Cyclonic storm Jawad (pronounced as Jowad) will cause very heavy rainfall over Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh today. It is expected to change course and make landfall near Odisha’s Puri on Sunday noon. The storm has developed less than a fortnight after Andhra Pradesh’s Rayalaseema region saw very heavy rains and flash floods leading to the death of more than 40 people. Director, IMD-Amaravati, Stella S said north coastal Andhra Pradesh is likely to witness more than 20 cm rainfall. Stay with TOI for all the latest updates:
